Before you book
How far in advance should I book?
For weddings and large functions in the busy muhurtham and winter months, four to eight weeks ahead gives you a real choice of dates and time for a proper tasting. Smaller house functions and corporate lunches can often be arranged on much shorter notice. If a date is already committed we will say so in our first reply instead of keeping you waiting, so do ask even when the date is close.
How do I confirm my date, and is an advance required?
Your date is held once you accept the written quotation and pay the advance stated on it. The amount and the schedule for the balance depend on the size of the event, so we write them into the quotation rather than quoting a flat figure over the phone. Please read that section before paying, and ask us to explain anything that is unclear.
How is catering priced, and what does the quotation show?
Catering is quoted per plate. The figure depends on your guest count, the menu you choose, the number of live counters, service staff, distance to the venue and the season. The written quotation separates food, staff, crockery, transport and GST so you can see what each part costs and remove what you do not need. We do not publish one per-plate price because the same number would be wrong for most events.
Is GST charged?
GST is shown as a separate line on the quotation, so the tax is never folded into the per-plate figure. If you need a GST invoice in a particular name or with a GSTIN, tell us when you accept the quotation so it is prepared correctly the first time.
What is your cancellation and date-change policy?
The terms that apply to your booking are written into the quotation you accept, because what we can refund depends on how much food purchasing, staffing and decor work has already been committed. In general, the earlier you tell us, the more flexibility there is, and a date change is usually easier to accommodate than a cancellation. Our website terms describe the general approach; the quotation is the document that binds both sides.
Can I change the guest count after booking?
Yes, within limits. We ask you to confirm the final headcount a few days before the event; the exact deadline is on your quotation. Increases are usually accommodated if the kitchen has capacity, and we would rather hear early than cook short. Reductions are handled according to the terms on the quotation, so mention it as soon as you know.
What is the minimum number of guests?
Our catering formats start at around 50 guests. Below that, the quality of a cooked-on-site service is hard to protect, and you are usually better served ordering from one of our two restaurants. Message us your headcount and we will tell you honestly which route suits your event.

The food and the tasting
Do you cater both vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus?
Yes. Most Hyderabad functions need both, so we plan them as two parallel lines with separate serving utensils and separate staff, so that vegetarian guests are never served from a spoon that touched meat. A fully vegetarian event is just as easy for us.
Can I taste the food before I confirm?
Yes, and we would like you to. We arrange a tasting of the dishes you are shortlisting before you commit, and we will adjust spice, oil and salt to suit your family. Ask for the tasting when you request your quotation so a date can be found for it. You can also eat at either of our two restaurants to judge the kitchen first.
Can the menu be customised?
Yes. Menus are built around the occasion, the crowd and your budget, not picked from a fixed package. Tell us what your family expects to see on the table, which dishes are non-negotiable, and what you would like to leave out. We will suggest changes where a dish will not hold well in a large buffet, and explain why.
Can you cater for dietary needs and allergies?
Tell us when you enquire. Vegetarian lines are kept physically separate, and we can plan dishes around common requirements such as low oil, less spice or guests who avoid particular ingredients. For a serious allergy, please speak to us directly before booking. We will tell you honestly what we can and cannot guarantee in a working kitchen, rather than give a comforting answer we cannot stand behind.
What are live counters, and which ones do you offer?
A live counter is a station where a cook prepares food in front of your guests: chaat, dosa and grill are typical examples. They suit receptions and larger gatherings because the food reaches the plate hot and guests see it being made. Counters need space, power or fuel and a cook each, which is why they appear as separate items on the quotation.
Is the food cooked fresh on the day?
Yes. Food is prepared fresh on the day from our own kitchens and portable cooking setups, timed to the service start rather than cooked hours ahead. Dishes that benefit from slow cooking, such as dum biryani, are started early and sealed in handis so they are served at their best.
Do you serve Hyderabadi biryani for large weddings?
Biryani and the Hyderabadi classics are the core of what our restaurant kitchens cook, and they are central to our wedding and reception menus. Tell us how many guests you expect and whether the menu is vegetarian, non-vegetarian or both, and we will propose a spread that keeps the biryani the centrepiece.

Decor and setup
What decor do you offer?
Mandaps, stages and backdrops, floral decor, themed setups, crockery and the main table, and LED counters and stalls. You can book decor alongside catering so one team coordinates the whole venue, or ask for decor on its own.
What are LED counters and stalls?
They are backlit food counters and display stalls with LED lighting and menu boards, used to make live stations and dessert tables look like part of the design. They are popular at receptions and corporate events. Each one needs a power point, which we plan with you when the layout is fixed.
Can I see examples of your decor before deciding?
Yes. Our gallery is organised by weddings, receptions, corporate events, decor, LED counters, food and restaurants. If you see a setup you like, send us the photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you what it would involve for your venue and guest count.
How early do you set up?
We agree an arrival time with you and the venue in writing. Food stations and crockery are set before guests arrive. Larger stage and mandap builds take longer and are often set up the day before or very early on the day, which depends on whether the venue lets us in earlier. Tell us the venue and the muhurtham or start time and we will work backwards from it.
Do you supply crockery and the main table?
Yes. Service crockery, cutlery, serving dishes and chafing dishes with fuel are part of our catering service, and we can dress the main table to match your decor. Tell us the style you want and we will quote any premium crockery as a separate line.
Can I book decor without catering, or catering without decor?
In most cases yes. Each service is quoted on its own lines, so you can take one or combine them. Combining tends to make the day easier because the same team plans the floor layout, power and timing together. Tell us what you need and we will say plainly if a particular combination does not work for your date.

Our restaurants
Where are your restaurants and when are they open?
We run two restaurants. Mubarak Restaurant Medchal (Hyderabad, near Medchal Checkpost and ORR Exit) is open daily from 11:30 to 23:30, and Mubarak Restaurant Yousufguda (Hyderabad, near Yousufguda Checkpost and Srinagar Colony) is open daily from 11:00 to 23:30. The exact address and a map for each are on the contact page.
What kind of food do the restaurants serve?
Both are multi-cuisine kitchens, but they do not serve the same list: Medchal serves South Indian, North Indian, Chinese, Hyderabadi, Biryani and Kebab, and Yousufguda serves Hyderabadi, North Indian, Chinese and Tandoori. The menu for each restaurant is on its own page. The same kitchens' cooking is what we bring to your event.
Can I book a table or a party for a group?
Call or message the restaurant you prefer with the date, time and number of people. Availability for groups and any private dining space is confirmed per date, so we would rather check than promise. For a large celebration, it is often better to enquire about catering at your own venue as well.
Can I taste the food at a restaurant before booking catering?
Yes. Eating at either restaurant is the simplest way to judge our cooking before you commit, and our team can discuss your event with you while you are there. Mention that you are planning an event when you message us so the right person is available.
Do you offer takeaway or delivery?
Takeaway and delivery options for each restaurant are listed on that restaurant page, and we keep them current there rather than repeating them here. For a bulk or party order, message the restaurant directly with the date and quantity.
Which phone number should I use?
For event enquiries use the main Mubarak Events number or the enquiry form, since that goes to the events team. For table bookings and restaurant questions use the number listed for the specific restaurant, so the call reaches the people in that kitchen.

On the day: venue, power and weather
Which areas do you serve?
We work across Hyderabad and Secunderabad, including Medchal, Kompally, Shamirpet, Gachibowli, Hitec City, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills and other parts of the city, and travel to farmhouses and venues in the surrounding districts. Distance beyond the standard band is shown as its own line on the quotation so it is never hidden in the per-plate price.
Do you handle outstation events?
Yes, for events outside the city we quote travel for the team and equipment separately. For distant venues we may also need to plan the team staying overnight, which is itemised as well. Tell us the town, the date and the guest count, and we will say whether it is practical before you spend time on anything else.
What are the power requirements?
Live counters, LED counters and lighting all draw power, and a venue often has less spare capacity than people expect. Once your menu and decor are fixed we tell you how many separate power points each station needs, and ask the venue to confirm them. A generator or power supply is not included where the venue has none, but we can advise what to arrange.
What about parking and vehicle access?
Our vehicles carry food, equipment and staff, so we need a loading point as close to the kitchen or serving area as possible and access for the agreed setup time. It helps if you check with the venue that catering vehicles may enter and park, especially at apartment communities and hall complexes with restricted hours. Guest parking is normally the venue responsibility; if it is a concern, tell us early so the arrival plan allows for it.
What do we need to provide at the venue?
A covered, clean area for cooking and serving, access to water, the power points we have agreed, and permission for our team to set up at the agreed time. If the venue is new to us we may ask for a quick visit or photographs beforehand, so there are no surprises on the day.
What happens if it rains at an outdoor event?
Outdoor events are planned with covered cooking and serving areas, and we bring our own tents for the catering line. Monsoon dates deserve a conversation at the start: we will ask about a backup covered space and plan food stations so the service can move under cover if needed.
Who clears up afterwards?
We clear the food stations and used crockery, and take our equipment away, at the end of service. The quotation states the agreed service end time; staying later than that is quoted separately, so tell us if the programme may run long.
